Ormond Beach PD Demotes Sergeant Over Misconduct

Officer Warmington Is Our Newest Member To Our Compiled List Of "Brady Cops"

“Corrupt and incompetent police officers have a long history of being protected by their colleagues, police internal affairs and the government.” ~ Steven Magee

According to a November 22, 2019 article within the Daytona Beach News Journal, Ormond Beach Police Sgt. William Warmington was demoted two ranks, down to patrol officer, for his relationship with a woman who ran a drug house.

This article will not focus on Officer Warmington's relationship with the woman. This publication's task is to determine whether Officer Warmington qualifies to be added to our ever growing list of local "Brady cops".

Within the mandates of a 1963 U.S. Supreme Court decision, Brady vs. Maryland, 373 U.S. 83 (1963), the Court ruled, that prosecutors had the responsibility to provide the defendant any and all exculpatory evidence (evidence that tends to prove the suspect not guilty).

In 1972, the U.S. Supreme Court, under their Giglio v United States, 405 U.S. 150 (1972) decision, expanded the term "exculpatory evidence" to include any past negative histories of witnesses (including police officers) that were being called to forward the prosecution against the defendant.

Our Review Of The Ofc. Warmington Situation

VolusiaExposed.Com has reviewed the internal documents received from the Ormond Beach Police Department (see links - right of page). Within these documents, the administration of the police department clearly questions Ofc. Warmington's "honesty" and "fairness". Therefore, we, VolusiaExposed.Com have added Ofc. Warmington to our local list of Brady Cops.

Obviously, if Ofc. Warmington's own department questions his honesty, then, it would be reasonable to conclude that judges, jurors, or citizens would be justified in also questioning his honesty.

This publication, through our sister media site, BradyCops.Org has been compiling a nationwide data base of "Brady cops". Our eventual goal is not only to provide the public with this data base, but more importantly, to identify which prosecutors are not maintaining an internal list of their "Brady Cops", in order to effectively comply with the U.S. Supreme Court mandates within the Brady and Giglio decisions.

BradyCops.Org In Hiatus

With the August 2015 arrest of child advocate, investigator reporter, Dana Delaney Loyd by members of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), this publication made a decision to place the development of BradyCops.Org in hiatus, so that we could assume the role of also covering Brevard County.

Loyd was arrested, and criminally prosecuted, under the charge of making a false abuse call to the Florida Abuse Hotline. Because of her criminal prosecution, and her eventual conviction, together with the mandates of her sentence, she was forced to shut down her media site of BrevardsBestNews.Com.

Our publication has published over forty (40) articles in the defense of Mrs. Loyd, whereas we have argue several concerns regarding the handling of Mrs. Loyd's arrest and prosecution. These concerns include, but are not limited to, whether the BCSO, and the local prosecutor, even had the legal authority to charge and prosecute Mrs. Loyd. We also question whether Loyd's trial judge, Judge Robin "Railroad" Lemonidis operated within Florida's judicial ethical standards.

It comes as no surprise, that Judge "Railroad" Lemonidis is currently facing disciplinary action from the Florida Supreme Court for similar judicial misconduct, separate from the Loyd prosecution.

Recently, Mrs. Loyd had a bogus violation of probation (VOP) charge against her dismissed. Evidence suggests that old Judge Railroad Lemonidis engaged in judicial misconduct by ordering probation officers to fraudulently file the VOP affidavit against Mrs. Loyd. At time of publication, the Loyd matter continues to process it way through the court system.

Since our BradyCops.Org project was placed in mothballs (hiatus) pending the completion of the Loyd matter, and with the Loyd matter progressing along, we anticipate re-activating the BradyCops.Org project shortly (2020).
