OUR CONTINUING COVERAGE STATE ATTORNEY DECLINES TO PROSECUTE WOMAN THAT SHERIFF SAYS LIED ABOUT DEPUTY |
July 8, 2021 |
Is Still Legal Within Volusia County Last May (2021), VolusiaExposed.Com published an article, as well as an open letter to Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood, voicing our belief that Tammy Stuck had not committed the crime of filing a false written report regarding her interactions with a sheriff deputy. Our rationale, in support of our belief was fully explained within our open letter and earlier article (see below web links to both). In short, VolusiaExposed.Com argued that Mrs. Stuck had NOT made any factually false written statements - regarding whether the deputy had touched her. Her other written statements regarding the "touching" incident were merely beliefs and opinions. Further her, and her husband's other verbal statements - had no relevance to the cited criminal charge. The "close out" memo recently filed by the State Attorney seems to support our conclusions. It's nice to know that - at least here in Volusia County - expressing opposing "OPINIONS", especially with government officials is NOT, - in of itself - a crime. It hasn't always been so, remembering the 2020 tribulations of Cristina March and Alvin Mortimer - which either directly, or indirectly involved the Volusia County SHeriff's Office.
