On April 10, 2024 - VolusiaExposed.Com attended (via ZOOM), and video recorded, the vetting / interview process of Florida's 7th Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC).

In order to fill the judicial position caused by the retirement of Judge James R. Clayton, the 7th JNC interviewed eleven (11) candidates, of the fourteen candidates that submitted their applications.

We (VolusiaExposed.Com) have provided links to these interviews and judicial applications (see below).

Applicants Allison Hughes (click here to read email) and Andrew Urbanak (click here to read email) opted not to re-interview with the JNC - allowing their previous January 2024 JNC interviews, regarding the retirement of Judge Raul Zambrano to serve as their proxy interview for this judicial opening. (such is allowable under JNC rules and procedures)

While Mr. Urbanak did make the JNC's "shortlist" of six (6) judicial nominees - Mrs. Hughes did not make the "shortlist" cut.

Applicant David Wainer did not interview - due to the fact that Governor DeSantis had recently appointed him to fill the judicial seat vacated by Judge Zambrano's retirement.

Within our January 22, 2024 article, we "opined" that Mrs. Hughes does NOT possess the professional ethics necessary to support a judicial appointment.

This publication has voiced our concerns that Mrs. Hughes - acting in her official capacity as an assistant public defender conspired with others, including Assistant State Attorney, and current Judicial Nominee Sarah Thomas, the sheriff, and the trial judge - in a scheme to deny a fourteen year-old girl her U.S. Constitutional rights to due process.

We suspect that Thomas and Hughes placated the sheriff's desire to "railroad" this child through the criminal justice system - with an expected "Quid Pro Quo" opportunity of securing a judicial appointment to the bench.

During her January 2024 application process - Thomas presented the JNC with a letter of recommendation from Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood (click here to read) in which the sheriff praised Thomas for her assistance in prosecuting (RAIL ROADING) this child.

Worst yet, we suspect that this cabal (sheriff, public defender, state attorney, judge) knew about, and refused to properly investigate the sexual grooming of this child - while in their custody.

One Child's Fight For Freedom & Justice

We forward the belief that the "cabal" attempted to cover-up these "grooming" matters - along with the false narrative forwarded by the local sheriff that this child, and / or her juvenile co-defendant had fired military rounds from a AK-47 rifle at this deputies (see Youtube video ==>>).

The sheriff investigator's own report verifies (see lines 79-80 - second to the last page of the report) that the children never fired the AK-47 rifle.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood Presents A False Narrative About AK-47 Gunfire
The "cover-up" basically consisted of "railroading" the child through the adult criminal justice system - by repeatedly denying her effective legal counsel - then convincing her to waive her right to a jury trial during a private, non-public hearing - AND then sentencing her to a lengthy prison sentence - thus insuring her silence.

Teenage Girl Accused Of Shooting At Deputies: - "I Want To Go To Trial".

Please allow us to be clear - this publication forwards our opinion that this 14 year-old girl was NOT sentenced to adult prison because of her alleged crimes - but rather she was sent to prison to cover-up "the cabal's failures, and their crimes against her.

For our readers' edification, we have linked the below articles that provide a "deeper dive" into our concerns against this law enforcement cabal.

A picture of the 14 year-old's back - showing it blown out by military style rounds fired at her by Volusia County sheriff deputies.

DARK JUSTICE WITHIN THE 7th JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

When a 74 year-old retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant shoots at Volusia deputies - it's only "aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer" - but when a 14 year-old middle school girl "allegedly" does the same - it's attempted first degree murder of a law enforcement officer... why is that ! READ ====>>>
Last January (2024), we expressed our opinion that two judicial applicants lacked the ethical backgrounds to facilitate their judicial appointments.

We invite you to review our earlier article regarding our concerns as attached to Assistant Public Defender Allison Hughes AND Assistant State Attorney Robin Hutcheson.

In addition, on February 4, 2024 we addressed a letter to Ryan Newman - Governor Ron DeSantis' chief of staff, in which we documented our concerns regarding judicial nominee Assistant State Attorney (ASA) Sarah Thomas.

Recently, we sent Mr. Newman a follow-up email in which we expressed that ASA Thomas may have violated Florida Judicial Canons regarding her attainment and reliance on law enforcement endorsements. Please refer to our recent email to Mr. Newman click here to read regarding the particulars of our concerns.
Judicial Candidates / Nominees Are Accountable To Judicial Canons

As we highlighted within our most recent email to Mr. Newman - we suspect that ASA Thomas violated Florida Judicial Canons in a similar fashion, as is currently being prosecuted against Polk County Judge John Flynn (click here to read formal charges).

We also forward the argument / OPINION that judicial nominee Christopher Ditslear - together with Circuit Court Judge James R. Clayton violated the mandates of Canon 7 of Florida Judicial Canons - when Mr. Ditslear sought and attained the endorsement of Judge Clayton for this open judicial position.

From our read of Canon 7 judges can NOT "publicly endorse or publicly oppose another candidate for public office".

Obviously, on April 1, 2024 - his last day in office, and on official Court letterhead (see right of page) - Circuit Court Judge James R. Clayton publicly endorsed judicial candidate Ditslear's nomination to the bench.

During his JNC interview (see below) - Mr. Ditslear clearly stated his understanding of and responsibility to Judicial Canon 7.

THEREFORE, given the above - this publication can NOT support the judicial appointment of either Mr. Chris Ditslear OR Ms. Sarah Thomas - with particular attention given to Thomas' possible appointment. The Seventh Judicial Circuit can and must do better regarding judicial appointments.

Prior to publishing this article - we reached out to the judicial nominees / candidates and JNC members providing them an opportunity to challenge - clarify, or to make a statement regarding this article. As of the publication of this article - no responses were received.

Stand by to stand by ..... we shall post the governor's appointment once he makes it.
