Are VCSO vehicles being used for private travel? |
February 18, 2013 |
VolusiaExposed.Com has received some tips that VCSO vehicles are being used for private, non duty related trips. These tips included allegations that some retired VCSO senior staff members were being provided a VCSO vehicle and a county gas card When asked, a VCSO official addressed these allegations, to our then satisfaction. However, shortly afterwards, the below picture of a VCSO Chevy Tahoe came to our attention. We re-contacted the VCSO and requested clarity as to why a VCSO vehicle would have a "Jackson Hole Resort" advertisement window sticker on it. In the below email, the VCSO confirm that the Chevy Tahoe is theirs, but have no explanation as to why such a window sticker would be attached to this vehicle. Please be advised, that we are NOT requesting information on situations whereas a deputy used his / her patrol car to run an half mile down the road to fetch milk. Rather, we would be interested in situations whereas deputies take their patrol car on vacation, or retired employees still having a VCSO vehicle assigned to them.
