SEX CRIMES AND THE BADGE
Are Sex Crimes Committed By Law Enforcement Officers and / or
Their Friends and Family Members Under Prosecuted?

SEX AND THE BADGE
Corruption abounds in the
Central Florida Law Enforcement Community

Sadly, any Central Florida citizen wishing to GOOGLE search sex scandals within local law enforcement agencies, would immediately locate several recent events.

Such is sad commentary on the integrity of our law enforcement agencies.

However, unfortunately the attack on the integrity of Central Florida law enforcement does not stop there ! Wouldn't it be easy to comfort ourselves with the belief that these acts of misconduct (some criminal acts) are merely actions of individual rogue officers?

If such does provide you with some form of comfort, and you wish to remain ignorant to what is occurring within our local criminal justice system - then we (VolusiaExposed) highly recommends that you stop reading this article now.

If however, you have the courage to continue reading - we invite you to first review the videos to the right of this commentary. These videos outline just some of the recent sex scandals within our Central Florida law enforcement community.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) through their Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) is suppose to insure that Florida law enforcement maintains high ethical standards. However, unfortunately, it is becoming clearer each and every day, that FDLE itself has lost it's moral rudder. There is little doubt that the USS FDLE has shipwrecked itself upon the rocks of corruption. The Laura Barfield scandal is a prime example of the corruption that is rampant within the FDLE.

How can Floridians depend on FDLE to keep local law enforcement agencies on the right side of the law, when they (FDLE) can NOT see any criminal activity in an FDLE employee charging Carnival cruises to her government credit card?

LARGE DIFFERENCES IN PROSECUTION OF SEXUAL OFFENDERS
Non law enforcement connected defendants are sentenced to decades in prison for sex offences - while law enforcement connected defendants receive much shorter prison sentences - why?

We (VolusiaExposed.Com) invite you to review the two below examples of regular (non law enforcement connected) citizens being prosecuted for sex crimes within the Seventh Judicial Circuit (St. John, Putnam, Flagler and Volusia counties) State Attorney's office.

Your will notice that each of these criminal defendants were sentenced to decades in prison.

Michael Campbell received 30 years in prison for luring and raping a girl on two separate occasions, while she was 12 and 13 years old.

Man (Michael Campbell) who promised girl modeling job sentenced to 30 years for rape

Scott Moore was sentenced to 45 years in prison for raping his daughter's 18 year old friend, after getting her drunk. NOTE: Scott Moore's victim was an adult, and it still netted him a 45 year sentence. This fact will be of significance when we start our review of Mr. Miles' and Mrs. Cobb's prison sentences. (see below)

THE MICHAEL G. MILES SITUATION
Michael Miles is the son of VCSO Sgt. Miles

According to below media reports, Michael Miles is the son of Volusia County Sheriff Sgt. G. Miles.

All evidence that is currently available to VolusiaExposed supports that Sgt. Miles is a honorable law enforcement officer.

However, his son, Michael Miles, formerly an Oak Hill police officer, has numerous arrests, including, but not limited to, sex charges involving a minor, and impersonating a law enforcement officer.

The Many Arrests Of
Michael Miles

Michael Miles sentenced to 3 years in prison and 4 years of probation

While Mr. Moore and Mr. Campbell were sentenced to several decades in prison for their sexual assaults, Mr. Miles, son of a Volusia County Sheriff sergeant, was sentenced to only three (3) years in prison, followed by four (4) years of sex offender probation.

Mr. Miles' sentence can be verified within the documents posted to the right of this web page.

These documents further support that Mr. Miles' sentence was in response for violation of Florida Statute 800.04 - Lewd, Lascivious, Sexual Battery of a victim between the age of 12-15.

Now ask yourself - why did Mr. Miles get a rather light sentence, especially in comparison to Mr. Moore's and Mr. Campbell's sentences?

Remember, Mr. Moore's victim was an adult (18 year old), while Mr. Miles' victim was 14 years old.

So what do you think - did Mr. Miles get special consideration because of his former law enforcement status, and / or because of his father's status within the Volusia County Sheriff Department?

Stephanie Cobb's sex charges reduced to child neglect
Sentenced to thirty (30) months in prison

So what do you think - did Stephanie Cobb receive special consideration, because of her husband's status within the Volusia County Sheriff Department? Please note, after Mrs. Cobb's arrest, her husband filed for divorce. He continues to be employed with the VCSO.

THE STATE ATTORNEY'S WILLINGNESS TO HELP?
Evidence that our local State Attorney will drop felony charges, in order that the
Volusia County Sheriff Department, and it's deputies can avoid embarrassment.

Is this the end of the innocence?

Has VolusiaExposed.Com gone off the Reservation?

So what do you think, has VolusiaExposed gone off the reservation by questioning whether our local State Attorney and the Court are affording law enforcement officers and their family special consideration in their criminal prosecutions?

Prior to making your decision on whether we (VolusiaExposed) have gone off the deep end - might we suggest that you review the VCSO Deputy Shane Duggan incident

In short, Deputy Duggan was terminated from the VCSO for inappropriately approaching a female criminal suspect. The incident was caught on video.

Due to this misconduct - the State Attorney advised the VCSO that they were dropping a felony charge against the female suspect, in order to avoid embarrassment to both the deputy and the VCSO. Such was documented in a VCSO investigative report. (see copy of report to the right of this web page)

So what do you think - if the State Attorney is willing to drop felony charge(s) on criminal suspects to assist the VCSO (or their deputies) in the avoidance of embarrassment, would the State Attorney reduce criminal charges against former law enforcement officers, and / or their family members?

Is this the "service" the taxpayers expected when they voted in the last election? Where is the fair and balanced treatment? Obviously, such is not available in Volusia County.

According to the below Volusia County Government sponsored website - in the 1920s and 1930s, Volusia County was known as the second most corrupt county in the entire nation. Given the above, as well as other articles posted on VolusiaExposed.Com, we suspect that Volusia County has moved up a notch in the last 90 years, to the position of the most corrupt county in the nation. What do you think?

DID A CONFLICT OF INTEREST
INFLUENCE THE JAIL'S
RAPE INVESTIGATION?

Assistant County Attorney, Nancye Jones handles many of the litigations coming out of the Volusia County jail.

Nancye Jones' husband, VCSO Major Robert Jones, supervises the deputies that investigate possible criminal violations within the county jail.

We have concerns that several criminal investigations have been possibly manipulated, in order to reduce the County of Volusia's civil liability.

Our concern includes this particular in-custody sexual battery investigation, and the below listed situations.

We invite you to review our concerns.
