CRIMINAL MISCONDUCT AND THE BADGE Are some cases being both under investigated and prosecuted, in order to spare embarrassment to the departments? July 29, 2013 |
Corruption abounds in the Central Florida Law Enforcement Community Such is sad commentary on the integrity of our law enforcement agencies. However, unfortunately the attack on the integrity of Central Florida law enforcement does not stop there ! Wouldn't it be easy to comfort ourselves with the belief that these acts of misconduct (some criminal acts) are merely actions of individual rogue officers? If such does provide you with some form of comfort, and you wish to remain ignorant to what is occurring within our local criminal justice system - then we (VolusiaExposed) highly recommends that you stop reading this article now. If however, you have the courage to continue reading - we invite you to first review the videos to the right of this commentary. These videos outline just some of the recent sex scandals within our Central Florida law enforcement community. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) through their Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) is suppose to insure that Florida law enforcement maintains high ethical standards. However, unfortunately, it is becoming clearer each and every day, that FDLE itself has lost it's moral rudder. There is little doubt that the USS FDLE has shipwrecked itself upon the rocks of corruption. The Laura Barfield scandal is a prime example of the corruption that is rampant within the FDLE. Mr. Miles' sentence can be verified within the documents posted to the right of this web page. These documents further support that Mr. Miles' sentence was in response for violation of Florida Statute 800.04 - Lewd, Lascivious, Sexual Battery of a victim between the age of 12-15. Now ask yourself - why did Mr. Miles get a rather light sentence, especially in comparison to Mr. Moore's and Mr. Campbell's sentences? Remember, Mr. Moore's victim was an adult (18 year old), while Mr. Miles' victim was 14 years old. So what do you think - did Mr. Miles get special consideration because of his former law enforcement status, and / or because of his father's status within the Volusia County Sheriff Department? |

Has VolusiaExposed.Com gone off the Reservation?
So what do you think, has VolusiaExposed gone off the reservation by questioning whether our local State Attorney and the Court are affording law enforcement officers and their family special consideration in their criminal prosecutions?
Prior to making your decision on whether we (VolusiaExposed) have gone off the deep end - might we suggest that you review the VCSO Deputy Shane Duggan incident In short, Deputy Duggan was terminated from the VCSO for inappropriately approaching a female criminal suspect. The incident was caught on video. Due to this misconduct - the State Attorney advised the VCSO that they were dropping a felony charge against the female suspect, in order to avoid embarrassment to both the deputy and the VCSO. Such was documented in a VCSO investigative report.
