THE LAWSUIT AND THE COUNTY'S RESPONSE

As detailed in the below lawsuit, on November 15, 2012, Mr. Joel Chandler attempted to secure public records from the Volusia County Jail.

Jail staff apparently attempted to require Mr. Chandler to identify himself and to submit his request for records in written format.

Such requirements are in violation of .
