More Delay By The BCSO

Today (November 6, 2020) - VolusiaExposed.Com attended, and audio recorded, a court "status hearing" connected to Florida Today's lawsuit against the Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) regarding Sheriff Robert "Whiny Wayne" Ivey's refusal to publicly release the jail surveillance video, that is attached to the December 10, 2018 in-custody death of combat medic Gregory Edwards. (see attached audio files ------>).

These court proceedings are of public interest - therefore, VolusiaExposed has decided to publish the audio files from these hearings.

The local newspaper, FloridaToday.Com filed a July 2020 lawsuit against Sheriff Ivey - in an attempt to gain access to these jail video records.

VolusiaExposed.Com has been covering the events, investigations, and public protests regarding Mr. Edwards' untimely death.

Murdered By The Brevard County Sheriff's Office

Many within the Brevard County community see Mr. Edwards as a local hero (see I-95 billboard pic - right of this page), and they desire to know exactly what transpired during Edwards' two hours in custody within the Brevard County jail.

On December 9, 2018 at approximately 1P.M., Edwards entered the Brevard County jail. Two hours later he was being medically transported to the local hospital, where he would die the next day.

This publication forwards our suspicions that Mr. Edwards' death was NOT properly, and / or fully investigated by the following agencies; - the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the State Attorney's Office, the local medical examiner, and finally by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Records provide clear evidence, that sheriff deputies used force (pepper spray, taser, and body blows) against Mr. Edwards. This entire encounter was captured on the jail's video cameras. Sheriff Ivey has refused to release this jail video to the public.

Given the recent in-custody death of George Floyd (Minneapolis PD) - we (VolusiaExposed.Com), and many others, to include local government officials, support the public release of the jail video.

Many in Brevard County see Mr. Edwards as a military hero - and demand to know how Edwards met his dismise within the Brevard County jail. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey MUST release the jail video.

The above video memorializes how Sheriff Wayne Ivey is blinding the public's understanding of how U.S. combat medic Gregory Edwards met his demise. All of this is just the newest version of a rather dated police practice.

During Today's Hearing

After months of arguing by the BCSO, that the jail surveillance video could not be publicly released, because it would identify security aspects of the jail, and after great expense by Florida Today - in hiring video professionals to redact (remove) these security concerns from the video, Sheriff "Whiny Wayne" now voices his concern that the deputies' faces may also have to be redacted from any video released to the public.

In our OPINION, this is just more delay (denial of justice) - regarding the public's right to know what happened to U.S. combat medic Gregory Edwards - within the confines of the Brevard County jail.

Interestingly, during today's hearing (November 6, 2020) - Ivey's legal team expressed the position, that members of the public may develop concerns, after viewing the video, regarding Mr. Edwards' treatment while in-custody.

During an early hearing (October 30, 2020), a Florida Today representative stated, that it is the intent of the newspaper, to publish to entire jail surveillance video, so that the public could have a full appreciation of what happened to Edwards.

If both parties (Florida Today / BCSO) can not come up with an agreement - this matter is set for trial later this month (November 2020).

So.... stand by to stand by - there is surely more horse shit to shovel from this circus.....put on your boots - the shit is getting deep !
