Our Continuing Coverage: The In-Custody Death Of Gregory Edwards |

Today (October 30, 2020) - VolusiaExposed.Com attended, and video recorded, a court hearing connected to Florida Today's lawsuit against the Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO). (see attached video files). VolusiaExposed.Com has been covering the events, investigations, and public protests regarding the December 2018 in-custody death of U.S. combat medic Gregory Edwards. September 25, 2019 A Recipe For Homicide Murdered By The Brevard County Sheriff's Office Many within the Brevard County community suspect that Mr. Edwards death within the Brevard County jail was a "homicide". That the actions, or lack of actions (lack of immediate medical attention) by several jail deputies, directly caused the death of the local military hero. On December 9, 2018 at approximately 1P.M., Edwards entered the Brevard County jail. Within two (2) hours, he was being medically transported to the local hospital, where he would die the next day. This publication forwards our suspicion that Mr. Edwards' death was NOT properly, and / or fully investigated by the following agencies; - the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the State Attorney's Office, the local medical examiner, and finally by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Available jail records provide clear evidence, that sheriff deputies used force (pepper spray, taser, and body blows) against Mr. Edwards. This entire encounter was captured on the jail's video cameras. Sheriff Ivey has refused to release this jail video to the public. Back in July of this year (2020), the local daily newspaper, FloridaToday.Com filed a lawsuit against Sheriff Wayne Ivey - in an attempt to gain access to these jail video records. During today's hearing, both the sheriff's office and Florida Today expressed that they are actively negotiating a settlement agreement to the litigation - whereas the jail video would soon become available for public review and inspection. If these negotiations were to fail - the Court has indicated that this matter would be heard at trial next month (November 2020).
