Politics, Power & Profit
Over Facts, Evidence & Justice

For those in the know - Florida's long history of law enforcement corruption comes as no surprise. However, most Floridians, and really at no fault of their own, are not keenly in-tuned to the level of corruption that runs through their law enforcement and judicial systems.

These Floridians are not to blame, they are busy with their lives, providing for, and raising their children - and unable to make a full stop - and look around - in order to fully appreciate the corruption that has over taken their justice system.

Yes, they hear about it from time to time, but surely those incidents of corruption are not the norm..., right? Well sadly, the answer is "wrong"! The truth is - the "justice barrel" has far more bad apples, than good apples.

Some Corrupt Politicians,
And We Will Show You
A Viper's Nest Of Corrupt Cops.

There exist a symbiotic relationship between corrupt politicians and corrupt cops. Where you find corrupt politicians - it's a safe bet you will discover a nest of corrupt cops backing these politicians. When we say "cops" - we mean, police officers, state attorneys, and judges.

With no doubt, Brevard County is loaded with corrupt politicians - media accounts, and the local jail docket will support that.

And please allow us to place this fact on the table - Sheriff Wayne Ivey is both a politician, and a cop - in Brevard County, Florida - where corruption abounds. Think on that a bit. How many virgins are employed within a whorehouse?

FDLE's FAILURES
The Suspicious In-Custody Death Of
Combat Medic Gregory Edwards

This publication (VolusiaExposed.Com) for the last ten (10) years has argued that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has a long standing practice of ignoring law enforcement misconduct.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was founded the very same month (July 1969) astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon. However, unlike the accomplishments of Armstrong and Aldrin, FDLE's performance, especially recently, as Florida's state-wide investigative body has been less than stellar.

While the founding principles of FDLE were honorable, evidence now suggests, that FDLE has become nothing more than a political puppet of the governor's mansion. FDLE does not follow the evidence, rather they are guided by blowing political winds.

FDLE's recent "review" of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office's self investigation, into the December 2018 in-custody death of Combat Medic Gregory Edwards, is a prime example of how FDLE will allow "political needs" to out-weigh the facts and evidence (OUR OPINION).

FDLE has the apparent attitude, that if manipulating the circumstances of a combat veteran's death within the Brevard county jail, will disengage public protest - then so be it.

Peaceful protest is pure Americana - heck, in truth, violent protest is also as American as apple pie.

Our founding fathers had no problem throwing the King's tea into Boston Harbor, OR by participating in a protest in March 1770, that was later called the "Boston Massacre".

But like England's King George III, King Ivey wishes to silence the protest of the citizens of Brevard, by denying them the evidence (jail surveillance video) that will define how Mr. Edwards died while incarcerated within the Brevard County jail.

VolusiaExposed.Com has posted several articles regarding the highly questionable December 9, 2018 in-custody death of U.S. combat veteran Gregory L. Edwards. Several of these articles have been incorporated as "related" web-links within this article.

Murdered By The BCSO

Our articles question the rationale for Sheriff Ivey's refusal to release the jail surveillance video attached to the two hours that Edwards was in the Brevard County jail.

Video evidence from the arresting agency (West Melbourne PD) indicates that Edwards arrived at the jail healthy and smiling. A mere two hours later, Edwards is being medically transported to the hospital under CPR- placed on a vent - and it is where he would die the next day.

Documented evidence, including BCSO reports, clearly support that during those two hours, several deputies applied physical force against Edwards, to include, taser deployments, pepper spray, body blows and kicks. Further, the BCSO is one of the very few local law enforcement agencies that still allow the vascular neck restraint - the very same restraint that killed George Floyd.

In A Private Police Training Organization,
Bias His "Review" Of Edwards' In-Custody Death?

==============

With Edwards dead, and while his body was still warm, Sheriff Ivey opted to "self investigate" the circumstances of Edwards' death - ruling it to be a "medical" episode, prior to even receiving the full autopsy report.

The local medical examiner (Dr. Qaiser) would later bolster Ivey's initial conclusion - ruling that Edwards died "accidently", of a medical condition called - "excited delirium".

Another medical examiner (Dr. Stephen Nelson), opined that Edwards' death was more consistent with a "homicide".

George Floyd's Death Brings Additional Attention To Edwards' Death

The 2020 in-custody death of George Floyd by the Minneapolis PD, returned the Edwards' suspicious death back to the local spotlight. Many realized that absent the Floyd death being video recorded, the police officers would have never been criminally charged. In December 2018, the public knew Edwards' interactions with the jail deputies had been video recorded - and that Sheriff Ivey had refused to publicly release the video.

In response to several public protests, and with several community leaders, to include the public defender, demanding that Sheriff Ivey release the video, Ivey, in June 2020, decided to allow (request) the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to "review" the BCSO investigation into Edwards' death.

Sheriff Ivey's Week-End Press Release "Inviting" FDLE To "Review" Edwards' In-Custody Death

FDLE was not going to conduct their own independent investigation into Edwards' death, but rather, and very similar to the state attorney's review, was simply going to "review" and "rubber stamp" (our OPINION) the BCSO's investigative findings.

On July 15, 2020, FDLE Special Agent Supervisor (SAS), Daniel Warren submitted his "review" findings and "OPINION". SAS Warren voiced the "opinion" that the BCSO investigation into the events surrounding Edwards' death were both "thorough and complete".

We (VolusiaExposed.Com) would imagine that SAS Warren's findings, were to the great relief, of both the BCSO, and the State Attorney's Office (SAO). Since both agencies' had voiced their confidence into their self-serving investigation (BCSO), and review (SAO).

DID FDLE AGENT DANIEL WARREN HAVE AN INVESTIGATIVE BIAS?

The first rule in any suspected public corruption matter - is to follow the money. Florida State records indicate that SAS Warren has a fiduciary interest in the for profit business enterprise of "Warren Training Group, LLC". This company has ties to the Internet domains of "WarrenTrainingGroup.Com" & PoliceForceTraining.Com" (see above right screen shots of webpages).

As is supported by an email from FDLE, SAS Warren owns and operates this police training organization / company. We (VolusiaExposed.Com) forward our OPINION that SAS Warren's involvement with his police training company is (was) a direct conflict of interest, in his ability to fairly investigate (review) the Edwards matter.

In their email, FDLE denies that Warren has a contractual relationship with the BCSO. If true, the mere fact that SAS Warren does not have a contractaul relationship - fails to alleviate our conflict of interest concerns.

One could suggest, that Warren's favorable FDLE review (for Sheriff Ivey) - could enhance his (Warren) future prospects, of securing a training contract with the BCSO. A further suggestion could be - that the BCSO employed a restraining technique on Edwards, let's say, kneeling on a suspect's neck (vascular neck restraint), that may also be an incorporated technique within Warren's training curriculum. Since the George Floyd incident, this technique has now been banned by numerous law enforcement agencies. (VolusiaExposed.Com have no knowledge of whether the vascular neck restraint, is or is not incorporated, within Warren's training curriculum - it's reference is used as a mere example)

Lastly, imagine, if SAS Warren had voiced the OPINION that BCSO's investigation was indeed flawed. Such a finding, would have ALSO certainly called into question the "review" of the local state attorney's office, as well as, the local medical examiner's autopsy determination. Would that investigative finding have had a positive, or negative affect, on Warren's company's business model?

From our prospective - at worst, SAS Warren's fiduciary conflict of interest biased his official FDLE investigative findings - at best, the conflict of interest provided the appearance of a fiduciary bias. Either is unacceptable.

FDLE has a rather high tolerance, in knowingly allowing law enforcement agencies to fudge the facts. In a pending article, this publication will present evidence that FDLE, through their Criminal Justice and Standards Commission (CJSTC) - knowingly allowed a local sheriff's office to fraudulently file a retiring deputy's separation paperwork (CJSTC 61 form).

So, if FDLE is willing to allow the fudging of facts - would they allow a local sheriff to fudge, and / or hide the facts, surrounding the in-custody death of a combat veteran - especially, if there was a risk, that if those "facts" were exposed - that there would be civil protests, maybe even riots in the streets - during a pandemic - during an election year? Would there be pressure from the governor's mansion to suppress the facts? We shall leave those questions on the table.

Stand by to stand by ....... there is surely more to come of this......transparency brings truth...truth brings justice...and as we all know justice brings peace .....

Mr. Edwards, please accept this posthumous, thank you for your service. Rest in peace, knowing that justice will eventually prevail.
