Arresting Mr. Greg Anglade
Restrained on the parking lot pavement by a drunken mob.
Phone stolen by bar staff, while being choked out by staff.
Deputy does NOT verbally announce his arrival on scene.

As supported by the below linked arrest report - on May 11, 2024, Mr. Greg Anglade was arrested by the Volusia Sheriff Office (VSO) for being drunk and disorderly, and for battery on a law enforcement officer.

Anglade, and a friend had completed an evening of libations at a local Deltona watering hole.

Bar Staff Covertly Confiscates Keys & Cellphone

The arrest report suggests that Mr. Anglade became upset when he discovered that his car keys and cellphone were missing. Police body worn camera (BWC) video would capture bar hostess Natalie Snow admitting that she had covertly confiscated Anglade's keys and his cellphone, in order to keep him from operating his vehicle while intoxicated (see below linked police video).

While we may be able to understand the confiscation of the car keys - we can not find justification for the confiscation of Mr. Anglade's cellphone. From our perspective, Ms. Snow may have been in illegal possession of Mr. Anglade's cellphone.

Apparently, the verbal altercation over the car keys, and the cellphone, eventually escalated to a physical confrontation - whereas several bar patrons took it upon themselves to physically restrain Mr. Anglade to the ground.
As per Deputy Ethan Thomas' BWC video - upon his arrival on scene - Thomas was verbally greeted by bar hostess Natalie Snow - and found Anglade being held down by several male bar patrons to the parking lot's pavement. Anglade can be heard complaining that someone had their hands on his neck (see video - right of page - minutes 1:05 to 1:40).

During these same initial minutes (1:05-1:40) - Ms. Snow can be heard advising Anglade that it was her that had her hands on his neck - because he (Anglade) "wouldn't f*cking stop" (again see video - right of page).

Choke Hold Used By Civilian

Later - in another BWC video segment (see right of page =>) Ms. Snow would admit to another responding deputy that she had engaged in choking Mr. Anglade - whereas she admitted that Anglade's breathing had been restricted.

No charges were filed, or apparently ever considered against Ms. Snow for restricting Anglade's airway, or for the confiscation of his cellphone.

Deputy Did Not Verbally Announce His Arrival

In Deputy Thomas' report (see right of page =>) - Thomas alleged, that as he started to assist the alcohol fueled mob in the restraining of Anglade - that he announced his presence as a sheriff deputy to Anglade. No such verbal announcement is audible - and the mob of bar patrons were on top of Anglade - severely blocking his visual understanding of what was occurring (see first few minutes of top of page video).

Anglade's Perspective,
He Was Fighting For His Life !?

Based on Ms. Snow's statements to deputies that she had been restricting Anglade's ability to breath - is it very possible that in Anglade's perspective, he was engaged in a struggle for his life - similar to George Floyd in May 2020 (Minneapolis, Minnesota)? (see below linked related article)

Deputy Thomas alleges that Anglade bit him on the hand - while suffering no injury from the alleged bite. IF Anglade did actually bite him* - is that result so unreasonable - especially from a man that is fighting for his life? Remember - Floyd died, while his airway / blood flow was being restricted by the police - while he was in handcuffs.

* Upon reviewing the video - we can not independently verify that Anglade bit Deputy Thomas - review the video, and decide for yourself.

Sergeant's Comments Were Less Than Professional

After the incident had been secured - Anglade's friend was on speaker phone with Anglade's sister. The friend was attempting to advise the sister that Anglade was being arrested. Sgt. Leven can be seen and heard laughing with another deputy that the sister was listening to President Joe Biden making one of his f**king speeches (see police video - right of page).

Sergeant Leven's Rather Stupid Smile !

Available on-line records support that Sgt. William Leven has a history of laughing at people and situations - especially over the phone (click here to review what appears to be a 2020 allegation filed against Leven).
We opine - that Sgt. Leven has a rather stupid smile ! Isn't that right Mr. Anderson? (FBI Agent Anderson (Gene Hackman) ~ Mississippi Burning (1988) (see video - right of screen ==>)

Indeed, Sgt. Leven is a law enforcement officer that should be closely watched - if not by the VSO, then by law enforcement auditors.

Anglade's trial is scheduled for next month (April 2025).
