Did the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Really Conduct An Independent Investigation Into The Death Of Marlon Brown? OR Is This Yet Another Example Of One Of Those Infamous FDLE Shuck And Jive "Investigations"? |
January 31, 2014 |
yet another FDLE shuck and jive?
According to an October 2013 Daytona Beach News-Journal article, FDLE Public Information Officer, Samantha Andrews "shied away" from calling their investigation of the events surrounding Marlon Brown's death a "full-on investigation".
Mr. Brown was killed in May 2013, when he was struck (or if you believe the Volusia County ME's report - NOT struck) by a DeLand PD patrol car, as he was attempting to evade the police. To Review An Earlier VX Article |

According to two FDLE letters, FDLE intended to "investigate" some concerns of the Brown family. These letters give the impression that FDLE intended to fully investigate the family's concerns. One obvious concern of the family, as detailed in the attached media articles, was whether the DeLand patrol car actually struck or ran over Mr. Brown. The medical examiner's report (see page six) found no evidence that Mr. Brown was struck by the patrol car. Regarding whether Mr. Brown was actually struck by the patrol car, VolusiaExposed.Com invites our readers to watch the dash cam video of the patrol car to determine for yourself - who do YOU believe - the Volusia County Medical Examiner's report or your lying eyes? |

State Attorney Files No Criminal Charges Against Officer FDLE Clears Medical Examiner's Office
The DeLand PD eventually terminated the officer that was driving the patrol car - however, the State Attorney's office opted NOT to file criminal charges against the officer.
According to a January 28, 2014 Daytona Beach News-Journal article, FDLE has issued their January 16, 2014 investigative report Within this report, FDLE qualifies the medical examiner's determinations to be "reasonable", that no evidence existed that Mr. Brown was struck by the patrol car. Credibility Problem Within one of the attached Daytona Beach News Journal articles, Volusia County Spokesman, Dave Byron indicates that the FDLE investigative findings vindicates the county's medical examiner's office. Mr. Bryon also stated that the county was not surprised by FDLE's findings - in this we are in agreement with Mr. Byron, but for different reasons. |
