Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Jonathan Templeton to the Brevard County Court in a letter dated . Judge Templeton was one of the six nominees forwarded to the governor for the vacancy covered in the original article below.
The letter states that Templeton must file his qualifying papers with the Department of State before assuming his position.
Florida’s 18th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission has forwarded six nominees to the governor for an opening on the Brevard County Court following interviews with fourteen applicants on September 23.
The vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge Benjamin Garagozlo. Under Florida’s judicial selection process, the governor will choose the next Brevard County judge from the commission’s list of nominees.
