Didn't Mr. Larizza during the last election cycle heavily criticize ex-State Attorney Tanner's investigation of the Flagler County Sheriff Department?
Didn't Mr. Larizza make "political hay" out of the fact that Tanner's office and the Flagler County Sheriff Department were at odds over this investigation?
Didn't Mr. Larizza get a large political backing from law enforcement in his run for State Attorney?
Apparently, Deputy Zimmerer still must be internally investigated by VCSO Internal Affairs. Being that under Volusia County rules, no adverse disciplinary action can be applied against Deputy Zimmerer without the concurrence of Volusia County Legal. We believe, that like in his criminal case, Zimmerer will suffer from little administrative actions by VCSO.
If Volusia County officials remain true to their past, they will now prepare to defend themselves from any civil action coming from the Conroy family. A negative internal affairs finding or applying adverse disciplinary action against Deputy Zimmerer only serve to assist any civil case filed by the Conroy's.
We invite you to review an apparent conflict of interest between the VCSO senior command and Volusia County Legal. Ask yourself, would such a conflict, possibly hinder a proper internal affairs investigation into the Zimmerer incident? Has this conflict possibly hindered other more important investigations (inmates death investigations at jail) in the past? Review the documents at the below web links and decide for yourself.
