Credibility issues within the Volusia County Sheriff Department

According to the a recent Daytona Beach News Journal article, Volusia County Sheriff Deputy Brodie Hughes has completed his suspension for cheating on his college course(s). In addition to a 10 day suspension, Deputy Hughes was demoted to deputy, from the rank of lieutenant.
It is of great interest, that Gary Davidson, the public information officer for the VCSO, stated that - "None of Brodie's policy violations were in any way related to his police work. As such, we consider his law enforcement credibility to be intact."
However, in Deputy Hughes' demotion letter, Volusia County Sheriff, Ben Johnson, advised Hughes that, "To be worthy of the trust that has been placed in all of us (VCSO), it is essential that all members conduct themselves with honesty and integrity at ALL times.
Is it possible to have questionable moral character while off duty, and then be considered fully credible while on duty? Well, apparently so, at least within the Volusia County Sheriff Department. But, within our organization (VolusiaExposed.Com), we hold the opinion, that both Deputy Hughes and the VCSO organization have little credibility.
In truth, we believe that the administration of VCSO has accepted, that at least within the community, Deputy Hughes has little to no credibility. Notice how he (Hughes) has been re-assigned to courtroom security. Under his new assignment, Deputy Hughes' chances of being involved in making an arrest are slim to none. Thusly, the VCSO has ensured that Deputy Hughes will not be giving sworn testimony in front of a jury, at least not any time in the near future.
Regardless, of the VCSO's alleged faith in Deputy Hughes' credibility, we (VolusiaExposed.Com) have added him to our Brady Bunch List of questionable officers / deputies.
