THE DEPUTY MICHAEL SAWICKI DUI AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENTS.

How many chances do SOME deputies get?

Does it help to have family members in the Sheriff's Department?

Did Deputy Sawicki and Deputy Galarza "get a pass" due to their knowledge of the Captain Osowski incident?

"If you call the police and I lose my job, I will hunt you down and kill you." - VCSO Deputy Michael Sawicki

HOW MANY CHANCES?

On July 4, 2012 - Deputy Michael Sawicki and his live in girl friend, Ashley Harty, were engaged in their own type of "fireworks". Once again, they were engaged in a domestic dispute, which ultimately led to the arrest of Deputy Sawicki by Sanford PD, on the charge of domestic violence.

Orlando Sentinel article - Sawicki's July 2012 arrest

The Volusia County Sheriff Department conducted an internal affairs investigation into Deputy Sawicki's arrest. VolusiaExposed has obtained the below linked copy of this investigative report, and we encourage our readers to review it.

Deputy Sawicki's Internal Affairs Investigation - July 2012 incident

Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson suspended Deputy Sawicki for 30 days, and had him sign a "last chance agreement", in which Deputy Sawicki must comply with certain conditions in order to keep his job with the VCSO.

However, VolusiaExposed notes that the 2012 Internal Affairs investigation failed to mention that Deputy Sawicki and Ms. Harty had engaged in a similar domestic violence incident in September 2011, in which Ms. Harty was arrested on several criminal charges.

While Deputy Sawicki was NOT arrested during the 2011 incident, the VCSO investigation concluded that he did drive his patrol car while under the influence of alcohol. Maybe, since Sheriff Ben Johnson has apparently admitted to driving under the influence, doing so is not a big deal within the VCSO. (Please refer to the video to the right of your screen)

NEPOTISM vs PUBLIC SAFETY

Deputy Sawicki's brother is VCSO Sgt. Justin Sawicki. Did the fact that Deputy Sawicki's brother is a sergeant within the Volusia County Sheriff Department help him keep his job? VolusiaExposed.Com has developed the opinion that it certainly was not to Deputy Sawicki's disadvantage.

Deputy Sawicki's career survived two incidents, within a year, that apparently involved, driving his patrol car under the influence of alcohol, domestic violence issues and an arrest. We invite you to re-visit our Deputy Scott Flesch article. Would it have served Deputy Flesch's interests to have a family member in the VCSO administration?

KNOWING WHERE THE BODIES ARE BURIED
THE CAPTAIN OSOWSKI SCANDAL

Recently, Deputy Roy Galarza was able to keep his job even though an internal affairs investigation concluded that his had went outside his patrol zone, while on duty, to visit (approximately 50 times) his girl friend's home.

The Deputy Galarza situation also included allegations, that during these on duty visits, he engaged in sexual activity with his girl friend.

If you are wondering how Deputy Galarza and Deputy Sawicki appear to survive allegations that would get other deputies' employment with the VCSO terminated, could it have something to do with the fact, that both of these deputies were first on scene during the VCSO Captain Osowski incident?
