THE DEPUTY MICHAEL SAWICKI DUI AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENTS. How many chances do SOME deputies get? Does it help to have family members in the Sheriff's Department? Did Deputy Sawicki and Deputy Galarza "get a pass" due to their knowledge of the Captain Osowski incident? |

However, VolusiaExposed notes that the 2012 Internal Affairs investigation failed to mention that Deputy Sawicki and Ms. Harty had engaged in a similar domestic violence incident in September 2011, in which Ms. Harty was arrested on several criminal charges. While Deputy Sawicki was NOT arrested during the 2011 incident, the VCSO investigation concluded that he did drive his patrol car while under the influence of alcohol. Maybe, since Sheriff Ben Johnson has apparently admitted to driving under the influence, doing so is not a big deal within the VCSO. (Please refer to the video to the right of your screen) Deputy Sawicki's career survived two incidents, within a year, that apparently involved, driving his patrol car under the influence of alcohol, domestic violence issues and an arrest. We invite you to re-visit our Deputy Scott Flesch article. Would it have served Deputy Flesch's interests to have a family member in the VCSO administration? |
