State Senator Aaron Bean Sponsors Bill To Restrict Law Enforcement
Access To Prescription Drug Database.

Updated

"Police throughout the United States have been caught fabricating, planting, and manipulating evidence to obtain convictions where cases would otherwise be very weak. Some authorities regard police perjury as so rampant that it can be considered a "subcultural norm rather than an individual aberration" of police officers."

According to a recent Florida State Senate bill, State Senator Aaron Bean, (R) - Fernandina Beach has chimed in, in agreement with privacy right advocates, like local attorney Mike Lambert.

Lambert's lawsuit to limit law enforcement agencies' access to the Florida Prescription Drug Database was recently dismissed by Circuit Court Judge Waddell A. Wallace III. Lambert sued after his and approximately 3000 other individuals' prescription information was accessed and provided to several defense attorneys. These attorneys were defending their clients against criminal allegations attached to a law enforcement investigation. Lambert, nor the other 3000 individuals were targets of the law enforcement investigation.

Senator Bean is sponsoring the bill in the hope of tightening the police's access to the prescription drug database, due in part, to Bean's disagreement with Judge Wallace's dismissal.

Never, we mean never - mess with the Beanster.
