While the St. John Sheriff Department has ruled Michelle's death a suicide, the O'Connell family expresses concerns that the sheriff department's investigation was more of a cover-up, than it was a death or homicide investigation.
The family's opinion is also shared by not only many within the community of St. Augustine, but also by some in the law enforcement community, outside of the St. John's Sheriff Department. The events and controversy surrounding Michelle's untimely death were highlighted in several local and nationwide media outlets, to include a 2013 video documentary by the PBS television series - Frontline. |
