While Dropping Your Pants While the below linked press conference from Cape Coral PD may infer that it's a rare event for one of their officers to be arrested for engaging in sex with a minor - the facts seems to suggest that it's an overall more common event then most Florida law enforcement agencies would care to admit. We in no way want to infer that the cases presented in this article are totally inclusive of all incidents of police officers engaging in underage sex. Rather, these are just a few examples of what has, or is transpiring within our police departments. A simple "Google" search will bear these facts out. In support of our claim that Florida's law enforcement officers have a rather disturbing rate of engaging in underage sex - we have posted three incidents of such behavior that were alleged to have occurred outside of Volusia County. And to our own shame - Volusia and Brevard counties have had their own share of pedophilic police officers. It's only been a short time ago, since Volusia County Beach Patrol Officer B. Tameris took a plea deal for an eighteen (18) month prison sentence for engaging in underage sex. And while it's been many years (2001) since Volusia County Sheriff Deputy Felix Vazquez was arrested for exposing himself to two pre-teen girls, the VCSO has had its share of sex related scandals in recent years. Let's not forget former Brevard County Sheriff Deputy Ryan Pill - he is still facing criminal sex charge(s) involving a minor. |

Given the scandal and protesting attached to the recent police shooting of a 18 year old Ferguson, Missouri resident, Mike Brown, - there has been an on-going debate regarding whether local police departments should be receiving military surplus equipment.
Maybe - on top of questioning whether a small local police department should have a military tank - we should also be inquiring whether our local police department's health care plans should cover such medications as Viagra and Cialis ?
Some of the officers highlighted in this article have only been criminally charged - rather than convicted - therefore these officers should be considered innocent, until proven guilty.
