The Kathy MacDonald Shooting
Why Hasn't State Attorney R.J. Larizza Requested A Recusal From The Governor?

Updated
March 25, 2014
"Police throughout the United States have been caught fabricating, planting, and manipulating evidence to obtain convictions where cases would otherwise be very weak. Some authorities regard police perjury as so rampant that it can be considered a "subcultural norm rather than an individual aberration" of police officers."
Dale Carpenter - Flagrant Conduct: The Story Of Lawrence v. Texas

Should State Attorney R.J. Larizza
Recuse His Office From The
MacDonald Shooting Investigation?

On a July 2012 evening the wife of Flagler Beach Police Officer Robert MacDonald ended up with a bullet in her head.

Kathy MacDonald did not die from her head wound. She currently resides in a local rehabilitation center, slowly recovering from her injuries.

What police are attempting to resolve is how Kathy ended up with a gunshot wound to the head?

Recently, the Daytona Beach News Journal ran a detailed article addressing the many questions attached to the MacDonald shooting - we invite you to read it. -->

VolusiaExposed will not revisit the questions properly raised in the DBNJ article, rather we have our own question.

Why hasn't State Attorney R.J. Larizza recused his office from this criminal investigation?

The DBNJ Article

Larizza has found it necessary in the past to recuse his office.

In October 2011, Larizza requested that Governor Scott reassign the confidential criminal investigation against St. John's County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Banks to another State Attorney.

Governor Scott granted the reassignment request.

Deputy Jeremy Banks was a serious "person of interest" in the 2010 shooting death of his girlfriend, Michelle OConnell.

The controversy regarding the OConnell death investigation has strained the working relationship of the FDLE and the St. John's County Sheriff Department. Further, several large media outlets have covered this very suspicious death. We invite you to read our earlier article regarding this incident. -->

Larizza also requested and was granted a recusal in the Jamesine Fischer DUI / homicide investigation / prosecution.

Fischer is the spouse of a Flagler County School Board member. In November 2011, a 76-year-old Palm Coast resident died after Fischer struck her with her car.

VolusiaExposed suggests that you read the attached FlaglerLive article for the particulars of why Larizza requested and was granted a recusal. -->

We (VolusiaExposed) suggest that our readers review the Oconnell and Fischer articles to better understand the rationale for Larizza's recusal. After your review - you can come to your own determination,as to whether that very same rationale, demands that Larizza recuses himself in the MacDonald investigation?

In fairness to State Attorney Larizza, we attempted to gain some clarity of why he has not attempted to recuse his office in the MacDonald investigation. As of the posting of this article, Larizza has not responded to our email inquiry.
