Judicial Conflicts Of Interest

Does Circuit Court Judge Margaret W. Hudson Suffer From This Dilemma?

Is This How The Volusia County Justice System Operates?

"Police throughout the United States have been caught fabricating, planting, and manipulating evidence to obtain convictions where cases would otherwise be very weak. Some authorities regard police perjury as so rampant that it can be considered a "subcultural norm rather than an individual aberration" of police officers."

Is It A Judicial System That Even
Judge Roy Bean Would Be Proud Of?

Recently, VolusiaExposed posted an article that questioned whether Circuit Judge Margaret W. Hudson should recuse herself in the Luis Toldeo murder prosecution.

Within our earlier article we presented evidence that supports that Dave Hudson is the spouse of Judge Hudson. Dave Hudson is currently a local private investigator that retired in 2005 as the Commander of Investigative Services within the Volusia County Sheriff Department. Further, FDLE and VCSO records indicate that Dave Hudson maintains a part-time deputy status within the sheriff department.

Luis Toledo was arrested and charged with murder by the Volusia County Sheriff Department. Media accounts support that the Luis Toledo prosecution will be a very complicated case, involving several legal potholes, that must be traversed by both the VCSO and State Attorney's Office.

Obviously, the Luis Toledo prosecution is a high profile case, with probable political ramifications. Anyone that doubts, for a minute, that these kind of murder prosecutions don't have political ramifications - need only to research the political ramifications attached to the Casey Anthony murder prosecution out of Orange County.

Judges, prosecutors, sheriffs and public defenders are ALL politicians - and politicians have one primary goal - to get re-elected. It's been our experience that the concepts of fair play, due process and the administration of justice comes in a distant second to their (politicians) primary goal of staying in office. But that's just our opinion - maybe yours is different - isn't America grand?

Judge Margaret Hudson
Other Criminal Cases Involving Possible Conflicts Of Interest?

Recently it has come to our (VolusiaExposed) attention that Judge Hudson has presided or is presiding over other criminal prosecutions, whereas she has similarly perceived conflicts of interest, as has been presented in the Luis Toledo article.

Judge Hudson is the presiding judge in the Ray Greenlaw and Wayne Greenlaw murder prosecutions. Hudson also presided over the criminal trial and sentencing of Corey Reynolds, a Deltona man charged with attempting to murder two Volusia County sheriff deputies.

All three criminal cases, the Greenlaws, and the Reynolds case, originated from the Volusia County Sheriff Department.

We (VolusiaExposed) wonder how Judge Hudson was able to emotionally separate herself in the Reynolds case. Afterall, her husband is a retired Volusia County Sheriff Department administrator - in fact, he still is a part-time reserve deputy with the VCSO.

Imagine the will power that Judge Hudson had to exercise, not to imagine that it could have easily been her husband that Reynolds had attempted to murder that day, instead of his (her husband) peers and probable friends.

Wow - this would be quite an accomplishment of self control by the judge, if she did indeed successfully emotionally separate herself. What do you think?

We (VolusiaExposed) are left wondering who was assigned to the Reynolds' jury? Maybe a retired deputy, and the wife of an active Volusia County Sheriff Deputy?

Are we (VolusiaExposed) alleging that a retired deputy and wife of an active VCSO deputy were on the Reynold's jury? ABSOLUTELY NOT, we have NO information regarding the make up of the Reynold's jury. Our point is - we do know who the judge was on the Reynolds prosecution and sentencing, it was Judge Margaret Hudson. We know that Judge Hudson's spouse is a retired administrator of the VCSO - and is, in fact, still a part-time deputy with the VCSO. So if she (Judge Hudson) was able to separate all emotional biases connected to her spouse's association with the VCSO, surely a regular American citizen serving on a jury could easily do the same - right? Or do judges, and maybe attorneys, have some magical powers, that mere citizens do not possess ? Heck - maybe the Florida Bar instills this magical power to all lawyers and judges upon the issuance of their Florida Bar cards?

Would any competent attorney allow potential jurors with the above described biases to serve on the Greenlaws' or Reynolds' juries? We suspect not. So why is it that a judge with those same biases, can presiding over these same criminal cases?

The answer COULD BE as simply as POLITICS.

How politically difficult is it for an attorney to request the disqualification of a juror? Now, imagine that same attorney advising the judge that he / she should be disqualified from presiding over the case.

For our readers, that don't suspect that attorneys suffer political fall out by requesting that judges recuse themselves - might we suggest you review the on-going matter with local attorney Michael Lambert

We See Scumbags Too

Not unlike, a locally well known and vocal police administrator - we can appreciate the existence of "scumbags" within the criminal justice system. However, our broader appreciation of scumbags, allows us to realize that they also have been known to wear judicial robes, three piece suits and police uniforms. If you have any doubts of this - might we suggest that you peruse the many other articles on VolusiaExposed.Com - OR conduct a simple GOOGLE search.
