The Volusia County Jail has had it's fair share of allegations of staff engaging in sexual relations with inmates. VolusiaExposed.Com intends to further explore these incidents as time permits.

Since the Volusia County Division of Corrections is a subsection of the Volusia County Department of Public Protection, we believe it is reasonable to inquire whether the Volusia County jail has the policies in place to deal with these types of incidents / allegations. The rationale is that the Volusia County Beach Patrol is also a subsection of the Volusia County Department of Public Protection and recent still developing events call into serious question whether the Beach Patrol was properly prepared to prevent, handle or investigate their law enforcement staff from apparently engaging in sex with underage girls.

VolusiaExposed.Com therefore wishes to provide both the public as well as the senior mangement of the Volusia County Division of Corrections with some documentation from the U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Corrections. This documentation will assist an agency on determining whether they have such a problem and how to develop policies to detect and prevent them.

Ironically, within the ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS of this document (page 5), Volusia County Division of Corrections Director Marilyn C. Ford was acknowledged as assisting in its development. Therefore, it is clear that the upper management of the Volusia County jail is keenly aware of the importance of having these policies in place. The only question that remains is whether these policies are being strictly enforced?
