OUR CONTINUING COVERAGE

The rationale for this article is to highlight a recently published article by CNN, regarding law enforcement's usage of the drug Ketamine, and the medical condition of "excited delirium", as they are attached, within some arrests of alleged violent criminal suspects.

We (VolusiaExposed.Com) believe that the CNN reporting provides an additional observational window into the in-custody death of combat veteran Gregory L. Edwards.

For nearly two years now, VolusiaExposed.Com has been covering the events, the investigations, and the public protests surrounding the December 2018 in-custody death of Edwards, within the Brevard County (FL) jail.

While there is no evidence, to our knowledge, that the tranquilizer Ketamine was used in the Edwards arrest, the controversial medical condition of "excited delirium" was the cited cause of Edwards' death.

According to the autopsy report, Edwards' death was "accidental" - caused by "excitied delirium". However, as covered within other media articles (see below links), there are some individuals within the medical community, that have stated that Edwards' death was NOT an "accident". One medical professional even suggests that Edwards may have been a victim of homicide.

Sheriff Ivey's Week-End Press Release "Inviting" FDLE To "Review" Edwards' In-Custody Death

The above video memorializes how Sheriff Wayne Ivey is blinding the public's understanding of how U.S. combat medic Gregory Edwards met his demise.

Edwards was only in the custody of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for a mere two hours, when it became necessary to medically transport him from the jail, to a local hospital, where he would die the next day.

What happened during those two hours in custody? The public has been provided the written reports, which clearly indicate that the deputies used force against Edwards (taser, chemical agents, body blows).

What we don't have is the video from the jail's cameras. Why? Well, Sheriff Ivey is refusing to release those public records.

Ivey is claiming a public record exemption - stating that if he releases the video - the public would become aware of "secrets" regarding his fire and surveillance systems. Other Florida jails routinely release these in-house videos (videos available - click here).

FloridaToday.Com has sued the sheriff's office for access to these videos. VolusiaExposed.Com has attended, and audio recorded, the court hearings attached to this lawsuit (see below links). Together with the documents within our earlier articles (BCSO reports, autopsy report, etc.), we invite the public to review these court hearing recordings, as well as the CNN article, in order to have a better appreciation of what is (has transpired) transpiring within the Edwards' matter.

Does The "LAW" And Black Lives Matter To Brevard County Officials?

We (VolusiaExposed.Com) suspect that Edwards' death was caused by the deputies (numerous tasings, chemical agent, body blows, and the deputies' slow response in obtaining medical treatment for Edwards). The finding - that Edwards' death was "accidental", and caused by "excited delirium" - well, that in OUR OPINION is just horse shit being spread around, in order, to provide the sheriff's office some coverage - regarding their killing of Mr. Edwards.

VolusiaExposed.Com suspects that if those jail videos ever became public- it would reveal something much more worrisome, than merely, the location of the jail's fire extinguishers - it would reveal a homicide.

O.J. Simpson is probably very thankful that his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, did not have video surveillance at her home. Sheriff Ivey is also thankful, that he has this alleged exemption to public record law, so that the public will never see, or know the truth, regarding the circumstances of Edwards' death.

Sheriff Ivey has some additional things to be thankful about. FDLE, the State Attorney - and we suspect here shortly, the Court - will all march into lockstep - denying the public access to these public records (jail videos). Why? Simple, should the video support that Edwards' was killed - there will be protests, these protests may become riots, and while public record laws support the public's right to know (OUR OPINION) - the system's (sheriff, state attorney, FDLE, soon the Court) desire to protect their own asses, as well as the peace of Brevard County - will in the end, over-rule the law, and the public's right to know.

We shall soon find out if the people's right to know, AND the value of black lives, are cherished commodities to Brevard County officials.
