According to a March 8th, 2018 Spectrum News-13 article - former 2016 Florida Deputy of the Year, Nick Worthy has been arrested with his girl friend under drug possession and child neglect charges.

Records indicate that Worthy and his girl friend, Rachel Trexler, were both taken into custody in the early daylight hours of March 8, 2018.

Deputies were sent to the couple's Rockledge home Wednesday night after neighbors reported hearing screams and gunshots.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey confirmed in a news conference Thursday afternoon that Deputy Worthy's employment with the Sheriff's Office had been terminated.

While Sheriff Ivey assured the public that his agency will ask the State Attorney's Office (SAO) to fully prosecute Worthy - VolusiaExposed.Com questions the sheriff's and the SAO's commitment to fully prosecute this case - given both Worth's and Trexler's bail bond amounts of merely $5,000.

In our November 4, 2015 coverage regarding Brevard's Child Advocate Dana Delaney Loyd's August 2015 arrest - this publication questioned whether Brevard County officials violated Loyd's U.S. Constitutional right (8th amendment) to a reasonable bond. Loyd was assigned a $10,500 bond. We invite you to take the time to compare Loyd's criminal charges against those of former Deputy Worthy. We believe you will come to our same conclusion - that Deputy Worthy's charges are of a more serious nature - but with less than half the bail bond given to Loyd.

Even in February 2016 when Brevard's corrections deputy of the year (2013) Barre Taylor was arrested for "sexual misconduct" with a female jail inmate - his bond was also merely $5000. Need we say more....doesn't it sound like the sheriff and the SAO are really just taking care of their own?

Stand by to stand by - there is surely more to come of this......
