According to the below local media article a local defense attorney has alleged that his client can not be prosecuted on a second degree murder charge because the State Attorney failed to give the suspect a speedy trial. We hope that the State Attorney has not dropped the ball on this murder prosecution, but we would not be surprised if they have.
Did the State Attorney really ever have the drive to prosecute this case? How long did it take for the State Attorney to file charges against the suspect? Was the suspect a good friend of a Volusia County Judge? Do these questions sound silly? Maybe, but remember that just recently the police chief of Windermere, Florida was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for stopping an underage sex investigation into one of his friends.
Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice System operates in a strange environment that most civilians are unaware of. We invite you to review the other articles on this website and wonder:
Why can jail officers openly falsify reports on inmate deaths and law enforcement does not investigate?
Why can a correctional officer bring contraband into the jail for profit and not be prosecuted? Was it because he is the son of a jail captain? If so, then maybe we can understand why the VCSO did not want to open an internal affairs investigation on Captain Osowski after he apparently drove his son away from a traffic homicide scene.
How can a convicted felon work as a correctional officer for 20 years? And when he is caught, there are no criminal charges, rather he is allowed to retire out under a full retirement package. Why?
VolusiaExposed.Com will continue to monitor the Wheeler prosecution - we invite our readers to review our other articles on our home page like the Volusia Fire Service Sexual harassment and Prescription drug scandals, the Volusia Beach Patrol underage sex scandal and many other questionable situations. Ask yourself, does all of this seem proper, especially within agencies that we trust to enforce the laws?
