On August 28, 2020, VolusiaExposed.Com was advised via an annoucement by the Seventh Circuit's Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC), that they were accepting judicial applicants for consideration for a gubernatorial judicial appointment to the Volusia County Court bench.

The opening of the judicial seat was caused by Judge Dawn Fields July 2020 resignation - effective in December of this year (2020).

Governor DeSantis has given the JNC until October 3rd, 2020*, to complete their task of accepting judicial applications from qualified applicants, vetting and interviewing those applicants, and finally submitting to the him (governor), a short list of six qualified nominees, for his consideration, regarding the judicial appointment.

* Gov. Desantis' office originally gave the JNC a deadline of September 18, 2020 - but expanded it to October 3, 2020, upon the request of the JNC.

Qualified applicants must have their applications filed by September 14, 2020 - with judicial interviews being scheduled for October 2 & 3, 2020.

All of this sounds a bit rushed to us - so, stand by to stand by - we are sure there is more to come of this !
