Captures Beat Down As detailed within a recent U.S. News & World Report article, on July 8, 2019, a Florida prison inmate using a contraband cellphone, captured video of several correctional officers beating another inmate. This beat down took place within Lake Correctional, located in or around Clermont, Florida Mark Inch, the Secretary of Florida's Department of Corrections stated that the video was "deeply disturbing" and that his agency was investigating the incident. The involved officers have been reassigned to duties that exclude contact with inmates pending the completion of the investigation. |
