Rumor Prompts Investigation And Resignation
Of Edgewater Police Chief

According to a recent Daytona Beach News Journal article, Edgewater Police Chief Dave Arcieri has resigned amidst a rumor of a secret meeting between city staff, including police officers, and City Council members to oust longtime city manager Tracey Barlow.

The DBNJ article further reports that Chief Arcieri has submitted his resignation. Edgewater city spokesperson Jill Danigel stated within the DBNJ article - that the investigation into the rumor closed with Arcieri's resignation.

This publication questions whether Chief Arcieri's resignation negates Edgewater's legal responsibility of completing their investigation (see our OPEN LETTER to the City of Edgewater).
