Deal Or No Deal
Juvenile Defendant Demands Trial By Jury

Yesterday (January 5, 2023) @ 1:30 PM - within courtroom #4 of the S. James Foxman Justice Center in Daytona Beach, Florida - one could have mistakenly concluded that an episode of the TV game show "Deal Or No Deal" was being filmed.

Nicole Jackson's January 5, 2023 Hearing
Daytona Beach, Florida

Juvenile criminal defendant Nicole Jackson, 15 refused to accept the State's plea deal of twenty (20) years in prison.

As is noted below (our January 3, 2023 article) - Jackson was arrested in the summer of 2021, along with her 12-year old accomplice - both being charged with multiple counts of attempted first degree murder of law enforcement officers.

The 12-year old was prosecuted as a juvenile - and for reasons that remain unclear - Jackson is being prosecuted in adult court.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (DBNJ) has published an excellent article detailing the events of the January 5th hearing (click here to review the DBNJ article)

The DBNJ article memorializes two (2) rather important details attached to the Jackson prosecution.

First, the reluctance of local officials to clarify why Jackson is being prosecuted as an adult. These clarifications are extremely necessary - given that BOTH Jackson's co-defendant AND the juvenile murderer of the children's home security guard were prosecuted as juveniles (see below article text - for additional particulars).

Second, the heavy attendance of sheriff deputies (some in SWAT attire) at Jackson's most recent court hearing (see last few seconds of the above video).

VolusiaExposed.Com questioned within our December 22, 2022 article whether the Volusia Sheriff Office's (VSO) herculean efforts to portray Jackson as their criminal defendant - influenced their (VSO) failure to criminally investigate whether a fifteen (15) year-old girl was sexually exploited within the confines of the Volusia County jail.

Group Home Runaways
"Cutting Loose" From The Children's Home

As was detailed within our September 22, 2022 article - on June 1, 2021 then 14 year-old Nicole Jackson (Maldonado)* - along with a 12 year-old boy ran away from a children's group home in Enterprise, Florida (Florida United Methodist Children's Home (FUMCH)).

Two Juveniles Take On The Volusia Sheriff's Office (VSO)
Shoot Out In Enterprise, Florida

According to the sheriff's report - shortly after being reported missing from the group home - the sheriff department located the two children at a local park.

The children spotted the police - and fled the park.

On the run from the police - the children broke into an Enterprise home - arming themselves with weapons they found inside.

The children then reportedly fired at the deputies who were responding to the home break-in. Deputies initially held their return fire, but eventually shot Jackson - severely wounding her. Neither the 12 year old, or responding deputies received any gun shot injuries.

The State Attorney's Office chose to prosecute the 12 year old boy as a juvenile - while chosing to prosecute Jackson as an adult.

Sheriff's Past Criticisms
Of The Group Home

A simple Internet search will quickly reveal Sheriff Chitwood's past level of aggravation regarding the internal operations of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home (FUMCH) (see below YouTube video)

Listen to Sheriff Chitwood state that "FUMCH" is ran by an incompetent group of people. Chitwood also mentions the un-related beating death of a FUMCH security guard (March-April 2021)

Don't You Believe It

Just a few months prior to the Jackson shooting incident with the VSO - another 14 year old juvenile (male) committed battery against a FUMCH security guard (Mike Ellis, 52).

Mr. Ellis injuries from the battery would eventually cause his death.

From our read of a 2021 VSO media release - the juvenile male - having blood on his hands - made a no contest manslaughter plea - and was promptly committed to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Apparently, the best the same local prosecutor can offer Ms. Jackson is a twenty (20) year prison sentence with decades of probation to follow. (see below courtroom video)

This publication has opined our concerns - that government officials (including at least one judge see above video) are attempting to coerce Ms. Jackson into accepting a plea bargain.

Disrespecting Mr. Ellis

From our perspective - law enforcement officials are being extremely disrespectful to Mr. Ellis - in cutting his murderer a juvenile justice plea bargain - while insisting on adult sanctions against Ms. Jackson - who has no blood on her hands.

If all lives truly matter - then spilled blood clearly demands higher criminal sanctions - than burnt gunpowder.

REGARDING THE CHILDREN'S GROUP HOME

Hello ~ Adele

Hello From The Otherside

This publication was provided with a letter (see upper right of page) purported to us as being authored by Ms. Jackson.

This letter was addressed to several members of the VSO - including Sheriff Chitwood.

Sadly, this letter appears to memorialize Ms. Jackson's abuse while being housed at a group home.

Apparently, Ms. Jackson - over the years - have been at several group homes - therefore - if it unknown which group home she is referring to.

After reading the letter - the thought came to us that - Ms. Jackson and Sheriff Chitwood apparently share at least one common thought - which is - sometimes group homes are operated by incompetent people.

But, surely - the competent VSO have investigated Ms. Jackson's allegations of abuse (more on this shortly).

Solitary Jail Confinement
The Filing Of A Writ Of Habeus Corpus

After over a year in custody - recently, Ms. Jackson was placed in solitary jail confinement, inducing Jackson to self-file (pro-se) a Writ Of Habeus Corpus petition with the Court (click here to review).

According the Ms. Jackson's petition - the jail administration advised her that they placed her in solitary confinement due to their lack of having the proper space or resources to house her properly as a juvenile pre-trial defendant.

This publication suspects that Ms. Jackson's solitary confinement has more to do with the jail administrators concerns that they may not have been completely ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Ms. Jackson. (more on this - keep reading OR see below linked article for additional particulars)

Abuse Allegations Abound Regarding The Volusia County Jail

The Volusia County jail is keenly aware that they are currently under a investigative microscope regarding abuse allegations - especially since their now suspended - soon to be fired - Jail Director, Mark Flowers has openly implied that the jail operates under an operational paradigm - which encourages inmate abuses and cover-ups. (see below listed related articles for some particulars)

Jail Director Mark Flowers' Abuse Allegations Letter

Now, even with jail director being suspended for months - and with his termination pending - the jail just can't seem to avoid yet another possible abuse scandal - involving the probable sexual exploitation of a 15 year old female inmate.

Whether the 15 year old inmate was actually sexually exploited - well that could have been determined with a proper investigation. However, the VSO was far more interested in the destruction of the evidence - then they were in investigating the incident. As this publication explained within our earlier article - we suspect that Volusia County officials never desired to determine whether the 15 year old child was an exploitation victim. (WHY? - well, see the below link article for the particulars & and our rationale - it's a must read)

CENTRAL FLORIDA JUSTICE
Why Are There Different Standards For Law Enforcement Officers?

According to a Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) charging report - while off duty - Cocoa Police Officer Patrick Michael Kelly was involved in a domestic dispute - whereas he threatened to kill his domestic partner, her child and any responding police officers.

Upon BCSO deputies arriving on scene - a photojournalist from the Internet news site TheSpaceCoastRocket.Com secured video that appears to document that Kelly did indeed fire at the responding deputies - during what ended up being a four (4) hour long stand off. (see video - right of this page -->)

The Thin Blue Line

Even though the evidence clearly documents that Officer Kelly was firing at the responding deputies - as he had threatened to do - according to the initial BCSO press release, Kelly was only initially charged with Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon withOUT intent to kill (DV) & Discharging a firearm on residential property

The initial BCSO press release also stated that Office Kelly was "experiencing an emotional crisis".

Late the following day - the BCSO issued a follow-up press release stating that upon further investigation - Officer Kelly would be facing additional charges.

We (VolusiaExposed.Com) imagine that when the BCSO became aware of TheSpaceCoastRocket.Com's video - they knew there would be no hiding the fact - that Kelly had made good on his threat to shoot at responding police officers.

Responding To A Domestic Violence Incident
~ Video From - TheSpaceCoastRocket.Com

Even given the additional charges filed against Officer Kelly - he still has NOT, unlike Ms. Jackson - been charged with the attempted murders of multiple law enforcement officers.

Adding insult to injury - court records indicate that Officer Kelly was arrested in 2017 for domestic violence. The local prosecutor dropped the prosecution - therfore, the City of Cocoa opted to keep him employed as a police officer. We guess everyone deserves a second chance - that is - unless you are a 14 year old girl living in a children's group home.

Our Departing Thoughts

A 14 year old boy - can beat a security guard to death and received only juvenile court sanctions..... a 39 year old Cocoa cop can commit domestic violence AND shoot at the responding deputies - and not get charged with the attempted murder of those deputies ...but our 14 (now 15) year old "little match girl" - well, she is left to freeze in the cold - being offered only a 20 year prison sentence.

Welcome to what passes as "justice for all" within Central Floriduh.

Prepare for more shenanigans - Ms. Jackson has a pending Janaury 5, 2023 court date. ......stand by to stand by - there is surely more to come of this.......
