From The Volusia County Branch Jail

Was It An Escape, OR An Improper Prisoner Release?

"Run Forrest...Run !!!" ~ Jenny, From The Movie - Forrest Gump

As was documented within an August 23, 2019 sheriff department report, Volusia County Jail Inmate Michael Redding was charged with escaping from the maximum security Volusia County Branch Jail.

On August 23, 2019, Inmate Michael Redding had completed his obligations to Volusia County, but had a "hold" regarding pending charges in Seminole County, Florida.

Recently, Volusia County officials released the jail "incident report" attached to Inmate Redding's "escape". ---->

Not only does the incident report memorialize that jail officers violated jail policies, it's our OPINION, that Inmate Redding did NOT escape from the jail, but was instead improperly released from the jail.

With little doubt, Inmate Redding knew about his Seminole County hold, however, these types of holds change minute by minute - therefore, in our OPINION, it was the responsibility of the jail's staff to know the current status of any holds.

Inmate Redding was under no obligation to question his release, or his pending hold status with Seminole County. This criminal prosecution of Redding should prove to be of some interest, should Mr. Redding opt to take the matter to trial. Stand by to stand by...there may be more to this....

P.S. - Mr. Redding where did you get those bruises on your face?
